Botswana: African Safari & Fly Fishing Adventure

2013 Wild Fish Soiree & Benefit Auction exclusive live auction item.

Wild Rivers and Beyond

9 Nights/10 Days – Departs: 21 October 2014
Provided by Wilderness Safaris and Acappella Safaris

Zambia is home to Victoria Falls, one of the natural Safari fallswonders of the world, as well as the mighty Zambezi River.  Our first lodge is situated along the banks of the Zambezi where we will seek out voracious Tiger Fish and other species aboard private guided boats.  Non-fishing companions will have a hard time deciding how to spend their first two nights on safari among the many must-experience options in the area, such as, visits to rural villages, a walking tour of the Falls, elephant back safaris, sunset boat cruises for wildlife viewing, river rafting, and more.

Safari TigerfishLocated in Botswana, nothing like the Okavango Delta exists elsewhere on the planet. We visit three island camps by bush plane to fish in gin clear water that’s traveled over 600 miles across three countries before ironically dispersing into one of the world’s largest expanses of sand, the Kalahari Desert.  Locals refer to the Okavango as, “the river that never finds the sea”.  Your safari has been timed with the annual receding water to follow what is referred to as the “Barbel Run.”  Find the Barbel (catfish) and you will find “Tigers”.

This safari is a true immersion into wild Africa, providing extraordinary wildlife in timeless landscapes. Guided fishing activities are included as well as wildlife viewing from mokoro canoe, guided walks, and day/night game drives in 4x4 vehicles. Our last camp provides a truly grand finish in the bush.
