Groups Oppose Trapping and Trucking Salmon Around Dams as a Viable Recovery Tool

Letter sent detailing opposition to a proposed trap and truck project around dam on California's Yuba River

Truck & Haul Wild Fish Conservancy, Native Fish Society, Patagonia, and Stoecker Ecological have sent a letter to federal and California resource agencies in charge of salmon recovery, as well as three non-profit groups, detailing their opposition to a proposed trap and truck project around a dam on California's Yuba River that many believe needs to be removed. Such artificial enhancement projects set a terrible precedent nationwide that diverts money away from real watershed restoration and recovery goals for wild and self-sustaining fisheries. We support the message and requests in this letter and ask you to share with others involved in watershed and fisheries recovery.
