Supporters on the lawn of the provincial Legislature

5,000+ turned out in Victoria for the climactic finish of the "Get Out Migration" for wild salmon. They gathered on the lawn of the provincial Legislature to tell governments to get open net salmon farms out of B.C.'s waters. The event was the end of biologist Alexandra Morton’s march from her home in Sointula - just off the north end of Vancouver Island - to Victoria. The day featured powerful and moving speeches from Alex, former B.C. Environment Minister Rafe Mair, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Order of Canada recipient Vicky Husband, aboriginal drums, music, and thousands of citizens committed to saving wild salmon. An amazing day that won't soon be forgotten.
