Description:
The Multnomah County (Oregon) Department of Community Services has selected Wild Fish Conservancy to conduct a study of fish diversity and distribution for Beaver and Upper Johnson Creeks located in Multnomah County and Clackamas County. The two watersheds have urban, suburban, and agricultural land uses, and are significantly impaired from water quality and habitat impacts.
Goals & Objectives:
The results of this study, which will complement similar Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife investigations in nearby watersheds, will allow assessment of changes in stream health and fish assemblages over time, and guide land use planning and development decisions.
Primary Habitats Impacted By Project:
Approximately twenty-nine stream miles are included in the survey reaches, of which approximately 20% will be surveyed for fish presence by a Wild Fish Conservancy electro-fishing team.
