Education

Community Education and Outreach

Wild Fish Conservancy is devoted to educating members of the community about wild fish, their habitats, and the ways that humans impact native fish stocks. Wild Fish Conservancy provides a variety of education resources and opportunities to increase awareness, stimulate thinking, and encourage informed decision making.

Shifting Baselines

Previous estimates of historical salmon abundance are often based upon data going back to the 1950's, or even into the 1980's. Many people don't know that in many cases fish populations are hovering between 1-3% of their historical abundance. Education is critical to counteracting these shifting baselines and making the public aware of the potential watersheds of the Pacific Northwest hold.
