Finn Creek Public Outreach Meeting

Finn Creek Public Outreach Meeting

Restoring Important saltwater habitat at the Norwegian Point Park would benefit salmon and other native wildlife, and increase park amenities for the public. Wild Fish Conservancy is currently conducting community outreach to solicit feedback on the Finn Creek Restoration preliminary project designs. We hope you will consider attending an online community meeting March 2nd, 2022 from 5:00-6:30pm where we will discuss the project, answer questions, and take feedback. A meeting registration link is provided at the bottom of this page.

The goal of the Finn Creek Restoration Project is to improve habitat for fish and wildlife, while making the park more useable and enjoyable for the public. Click on the arrows and move the bar across the image to visualize the proposed project.

Project Background:

Since 2017, Wild Fish Conservancy has been working with Kitsap County Parks and a team of consultants to evaluate habitat restoration alternatives at the Park. Information about that effort, including a Preliminary Design Report, is available at Wild Fish Conservancy’s Finn Cr. Restoration Design website, here:

During the fall of 2021 the project team installed monitoring wells to better understand how groundwater behaves under the park. We will be incorporating the new data to further assess the project and update restoration design drawings in anticipation of applying for construction permits later this year.
