On October 28, 2026, Wild Fish Conservancy notified the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries) and Alaska state officials of its intent to sue over commercial and sport salmon fisheries along the Alaska Peninsula, including the marine waters of the Chignik area, and around Kodiak Island that harvest threatened and endangered Chinook salmon from the Puget Sound and Columbia River Basins. |
