Alaska Chinook listing petition 12 month finding settlement

This document is a Stipulated Settlement Agreement filed on February 27, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia between the Wild Fish Conservancy (Plaintiff) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Marine Fisheries Service, and associated officials (Defendants). The agreement resolves a lawsuit (Case No. 1:25-cv-01401-TNM) alleging the defendants failed to issue a required 12-month finding regarding a January 2024 petition to list Gulf of Alaska Chinook salmon under the Endangered Species Act. Under the terms of the settlement, the National Marine Fisheries Service commits to submitting the 12-month finding to the Federal Register for publication on or before May 13, 2026.
